Welcome: Modcloth

Hello pocketto! We're finally back up with a big bang (pun intended), especially for the ladies!
Welcome our new affiliate,

We know; it's been a long, long, long wait... but the wait is now over! It's my pleasure to welcome ModCloth on Pocketto (especially after a dull stall here). Never thought I would welcome another new affiliate on board this little space.

Most of you may have come across ModCloth (especially if you're from the US), their pretty dresses, cutesy accessories and punny names for all kinds of stuff that girls will ever love. I'm not sure how I came across them but I guess it was all Zooey Deschanel's fault. She made me want so many dresses I could never afford (I love Jess on New Girl)! And if you live in sunny Singapore, ModCloth finally offers shipping direct here so don't panic!

In case you were wondering, ModCloth began as the hobby of a young woman with a love of thrift stores and vintage clothing. Today, it has evolved to become almost every girl's favourite online clothing, accessories and decor store. ModCloth stocks brands like Jeffery Campbell, Tulle, BB Dakota, Kanken and many more! It even has themes (back to school and more) and different lookbooks every now and then. Expect all things fun and pretty from retro and formal dresses to urban tees, jewelry to cute home decor, cozy sweaters and jackets, skinny jeans, pencil skirts, and both leather and vegan-friendly shoes, boots, and bags on ModCloth.

Madly in love with their themed lookbook just a few weeks back!

So anyway I've decided to play around with whatever I could grab from ModCloth (including the drawn model) and put together some of my favourite pieces! Madly in love with the apple shades.

From top left on model's hair also Gold Star Hair Pin, Holding Court-land sunglasses, Sea Shanty Singing Dress in Navy, Bright as Aire flats, all from ModCloth

In love with all of these! I'm mad crazy over sailor dresses, preppy stuff and cutesy-overkill accessories. I have no idea why though... Either way ModCloth's got tonnes of clothes and all for every different style and you so don't sweat it if you can't spot something on that list of items on the above! Stay tuned for upcoming promotions if any... but that aside, shop away!

Alright, more to come (I hope!). Have a great weekend (shopping on ModCloth) ahead!

We know you will (;

(10) Grand Hiatus y/n?

This quickly sums up the past month. Well, most of it. As you can see, Instagram has done a good load by making sure my phone serves its camera functions. I get bored easily but not of this, yet.

What's a great picture? A crazy amount of filters or is it perspective? Or is it just taking a picture of a great subject? We all get confused don't we. I can't say for sure it's awesome work, after all it's an amateur's take with a layman phone camera. Well I don't know if it's scary how mobiles and social media is changing the way we do and look at things but hey, it's about the biggest revelation since the industrial revolution (so I was paying attention to some part of lecture).

Anyway, getting back on the real issue. I can't decide if I'm really away because I can't seem to stay away from sharing random things at the moment. Work is starting to hit me like a giant wave with no stop to it. Not until next Tuesday is over.

Lastly, here's a surprising number from Norah Jones with Say Goodbye on her most recent album, Little Broken Hearts. Please do give it a listen, it will not disappoint, I promise! I hope these Monday blues will start going away already.

Absolutely random

I have no idea why but I randomly remembered that I had this illustration stuck in my hard drive for a long while. Drew this during my internship for a client but it didn't materialize into something. I wished it did though. The internship forced me to work for so many things but I guess it only meant one thing; we're past the stage where we didn't understand life and stuck around simple things and just laughed.

'Tis the season for a million Mini Coopers and Mercedes cars in (the school) carpark. I'm not even kidding. But I love the idea of having a car (and drawing one...) so anything goes.

This shall serve to be a good reminder. One fine day...

Work for the weekend!

Good Monday (08)

Good Monday to you I am officially in hibernation mode as I try to keep zen from the piles and piles of school work starting to hit me in the face like a bitch. Looks like I won't be able to invest too much time or effort in the next two weeks in my interests or my little space because the outside world is about to drain me of it.

Just thought I would share some music before I get out of the zone. I'm currently listening to a lot of floaty (no I don't mean it any way else, but literally; I feel floaty listening to it) tunes... which includes Alex Turner and his Submarine OST (lovely movie it is!). I never got over the movie and not the songs either. I'm in for the Arctic Monkeys so you can't count me out on this... So here's some lovin' with Glass In The Park by Turner for Submarine.

Well, I can't decide if I'm supposed to sad or just heartbroken like a real fool but I feel that when I listen to it. I don't know. Do you have a song that makes you sigh and want to pretend all of this never existed and melt into the walls and just watch everyone else? I guess we all do... At some point in life, we all have.

I guess, it's that time of the year... Where I shuffle my feet and can never decide what I want out of it.

Louis Vuitton: The Art Of Packing

This really shows how looking good can definitely go beyond surfaces. Neat, smart, lovely, uber rich and luxurious. Just when you thought Louis Vuitton was going to stay the same for awhile... This really took me by surprise. I'm absolutely in love with the art direction and the video itself!

Gotta thank my classmate, Syimmy for this. Extremely captivated by the whole look of it!

Anyway I'm not sure if most of you are audiophiles (I'm guessing you probably insist on some quality music with no sound issues) and I know records are not the rage anymore but I'm having a fury of ideas churning in my mind like a washing machine... Maybe I'll find time to address them. Soon enough. But if you've got some (records or ideas I'm all in!), I'm definitely all ears (even if it's just music, or your homemade videos/music or just a simple idea)! Just holla over them over via comment or Facebook, I'll be glad to hear them out!

Things: Out of Print

Are you in love with any of the above titles (or heard of them)? Or are you an avid fan of Threadless tees? Because I certainly am (in love with some of the above titles and Threadless tees, and I guess most of us would have at least one of those)! But here's a slightly more serious than punny alternative I would say. That is, if you love books, this is definitely an absolute heaven for you. It's where the best of the best meets; it's not just about the books, but your favourite titles on your preferred choice of merch.

Out of Print basically puts your favourite title onto your everyday tee or tote; it celebrates the world's greatest stories through fashion. You can definitely expect (mostly) iconic and even some rare covers (that are out of print) that you can wear and take out.

Other than tees and totes, there are a tonne of other stuff you may love such as the actual titles themselves (extremely good titles on site for a great read), iPhone cases, stationery, coasters, wonderful gift ideas and such available on site. Prices start from an extremely reasonable range which you can check out over here. And for all readers, Out of Print also has an active book club where people can share their favourite reads and vote for them.

Aside from providing wonderful wearable (and usable) titles, Out of Print also works for a much greater cause as you shop with them. They have recognized that many people from all over the world do not have access to books and work towards changing that by donating a book to a community in need for every product sold (another great cause to shop for!) through their partner, Books For AfricaYou may check out how it works via their site here.

Hope this helped in kick starting yet another hectic week. Absolutely in love with these items and the concept itself... On an extremely random note, it's finally break week again. This would have been absolutely appropriate if I was able to find time and make some nice purchases to take my mind off for a read but it looks like I might have to put off some of these plans away for awhile.

Work and more work to come. So bear with me a little longer for more to come (still haven't got to solving some technical problems)! No way to go but up once things get back on track (;

Good day, some luck for the week ahead!
